I sincerely apologize for the forum outtage yesterday. The stlwed forum had grown so large that it was completely unusable. I was up all night reconstructing the database piece by piece and only managed to save the last 6 months worth of posts. I will look into restoring old sticky posts soon, but for now I figured getting the board (even if it's a partial version of itself) up and running was my top priority. Also note the search tool isn't back online yet either. In an effort to test the smallest version of the forum possible, I'm waiting to turn on extra features that are most likely to slow things down again.

Thank you for your patience... I know yesterday was hard on everyone!

One more thing, the topic subscriptions (the part that let you get email notifications for updates to specific threads) were deleted too. You can open any post you like now and tell the forum to start watching it again by clicking the "Subscripe topic" link at the bottom of the page. There were so many people watching really old posts that were getting deleted anyway, I had to reset the topic subscription system. If you had signed up for notifications for new topics/posts on an entire forum those should still work. It's just the notifications for specific posts that you need to turn on again if you need them.

OK, the worst is officially over... now I just have to take time carefully restoring what was lost in small increments to be sure things continue to run smoothly

You're very welcome... I didn't have any problem staying awake last night, but I will say my DH is an ANGEL for making me coffee this morning once it was finally fixed. That might not sound like a big deal, but DH is a great at home barista, and it takes him a full 30 minutes to make a perfect cup of joe. Now that the adrenaline is gone I was seriously ready to crash.

I think I've found most of the older posts worth restoring, and am ready to start uploading them, but the forum will need to go down for a little while during the upload. Be warned I may turn this back off in about 5 minutes, but it shouldn't take too long to restore.

If you notice things are a *little* slower this morning, it's because the search index is rebuilding now. Once the search index is restored you should see an increase in performance.

We're almost fully restored now, and even with the reduction in resources while building the search tool things are still faster than before the big crash.
