Save the Dates

We ordered free postcards from Vistaprints and rounded the corners of the post cards. We bought our black envelopes at Xpedex and bought gel pens (green, silver, and white). We used the green and white...the silver didn't show up as well. We put a small piece of magnet tape on the back of each card and embossed our return address on each envelope. We were very happy with how they turned out!

Did you upload your own design, or did you use one of their templates?

We are doing a postcard for our save the dates as well. I really wanted magnets but it was just to expensive, so this may be an alternative. What template on vistaprint did you use?

I'm so jealous of all your paper projects. Your FI is extremely talented.

How did you round the corners of the postcards?

It is a little machine like a nail clipper for paper. I am sure that you can pick one up at Archivers, ArtMart, Michaels or Hobby Lobby.

This might be a dumb question, but how did you design them? Like, what program did you use? They look incredible!!

So I went to the vistaprints website and I don't see anywhere about the free postcards. I looked under postcards and I found 100 for $25. Did I miss it somehwere?

Thanks for the help!

This post may not be very timely for the brides above, but there was a mention made of magnets being too expensive. You can use vistaprint.com to design magnets that are the size of a standard business card. (They also have a larger size too, but I didn't use this). They have a variety of templates to choose from. I even found a template for a postcard only, so I called their customer service (which is EXCELLENT) and they applied the template to the magnets for me and saved it to my portfolio. There is no cost for applying your chosen template to whatever product you choose. For 100 magnets, I believe that I paid about $20. (only the first 10 were free, I believe) But, oftentimes, actually constantly, they are sending you emails listing various specials. Just sign up and you will get the sale emails, about once a week. I figure the magnets are an appropriate size so that guests will actually put them on their fridges. Also, to send them, we are going to order postcards from visaprint (100 are free!). they will be blank, except at the bottom, they will say something like, "We hope to see you in June". I'm going to use an exacto-knife to cut 2 diagonal slits in the center of the postcard, and insert 2 of the magnets' opposite edges into the slits. (just like the inside of a standard folder, where you can insert a business card). Then, going to order some colored envelopes. Also, I ordered free return address labels that match the template of my magnets! (140 labels= free). I hope that this can be of help to other brides!
