If you buy a gift online and ship it to them...

Postby Carrie » Fri Sep 04, 2015 10:40 am

I typically prefer to buy from a couple's registry online, pay to have it gift-wrapped and ship it to them. This way I'm not having to wrap a gift last-minute (because we know this only happens 3 minutes before we're supposed to leave for the ceremony and I still don't have makeup on yet), I don't have to carry the gift and figure out where to drop it off, the couple does have lug as many gifts home-- all the logistics are so much simpler. Anyway...

When you do this, do you also bring a card to the wedding? I have in the past, but now I'm wondering if that's weird or if it's what most people do. What say you, STLWED ladies??

I would still bring a card. It's more personal than the "congratulations" note in the shipping label with the gift. :)

I don't think it's a bad idea, but I personally don't. It's just another thing for the couple to schlep home, and in all honesty, will they actually remember you gave them a card amidst all the post-wedding hubbub?

Ditto this! Can't hurt but not necessary.
